| ACUI |
The Association of College Unions International
brings together college union and student activities professionals
from hundreds
of schools worldwide. ACUI is a non-profit educational
organization founded in 1914. Known more for its diversity
than its size, the
Association has member institutions in the United States,
Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland,
New Zealand,
Australia, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. ACUI members work
on urban and rural campuses, in two-year and four-year institutions,
and
at large and small schools. They are union directors
and student personnel administrators. They are students,
student activities
directors, food service administrators, program coordinators,
fiscal officers, recreation managers, and deans. ACUI
can enrich them all through education, advocacy, and the
delivery of services.
ACUI is divided into 15 geographical regions,
each with its own regional director. This regional structure
encourages the participation of students as well
as union staff in ACUI programs, activities and
leadership positions. Through regional committees,
conferences and newsletters, students and staff
learn about the role of the college union on campus
and share in fulfilling that role.
ACUI’s Central Office is in Bloomington,
Indiana, near the Indiana University campus. The
Central Office can be reached at (812)-855-8550
from 8:30
a.m. to 5 p.m. Indiana does not observe daylight-savings
time, which means the Central Office is on Eastern
time November through March and on Central time
April through October. ACUI’s fax number
is (812)-855-0162 and is available 24 hours a day.
The Central Office can be reached via e-mail at acui@indiana.edu.
