Regional Conference Scholarship Applications

Student and Staff Scholarships are now available for the ACUI Regional Conference at UW-Whitewater. Please send them to Steve Zywicki ( September 20. We look forward to your applications!

The Institute for Leadership Education and Development (I-LEAD®) is ACUI's premier student program, designed to emphasize the key concept areas of leadership, community development, and change. I-LEAD® offers an opportunity for college students to focus on personal growth and other issues facing our world. The institute prepares students to develop skills that will serve them as leaders in any situation, regardless of role, organization, or environment. ACUI Region 8 supports students’ attendance in the program through a scholarship for up to two students each year.

This year, I-LEAD will be held at the University of La Vergne, La Vergne, CA, July 28 – August 2. For more information and to register, click here.

Students interested in applying for a Region 8 scholarship (value $675.00) to attend the I-LEAD should complete the application and submit it with supporting documentation no later than 4:30 pm on May 31, 2013.

If you have any questions on I-LEAD, please contact Brian Magee at or 812.245.8088. If you have questions regarding the Region 8 Scholarship for I-LEAD, please contact Ruby Vega at or 312-413-5171.

The Indiana Professional Development Seminar (IPDS) is ACUI's premier program for new professionals, having been refined over its nearly 40-year existence. Held at the Indiana Memorial Union at Indiana University, the program offers participants an opportunity to share information, exchange materials, learn new techniques and theories, discuss opportunities and threats, and network with colleagues in a challenging and supportive environment.

Anyone who is new to the college union and student activities profession should attend regardless of title. Because the program format facilitates a small-group feel, the bonds formed with colleagues can last a lifetime, often with IPDS "classes" holding reunions.
